Afraid of Flying? This Spotify Playlist will Calm Your Nerves, Says Science
Attention nervous fliers: You might want to update your in-flight playlist. In a study from Spotify, London-based anxiety psychologist Dr. Becky Spellman found that breathing in time to emotive, harmonious songs with a low and steady tempo dials down anxiety. The perfect example: Adele’s “Someone Like You,” which clocks in at 67 beats per minute, just above the ideal 60 BPM threshold.
