EUROTUNNEL Train Disruption

Travel Alerts   /

Delays of up to six hours for Eurotunnel

Eurotunnel says it is currently experiencing  up to six-hour delays due to a fallen overhead wire in the tunnel.

A technical fault has been blamed for the problems on the passenger service – which is said to be due to a fallen catenary – and  further delays are expected during today .

Hundreds of passengers had to be evacuated from the broken down train which had left London St Pancras for France. They are being transferred to the French terminal.

Twitter user @Penny2449 said: “On broken down #eurotunnel train. Been down here 3 hours so far but about to be evacuated.

Eurotunnel said: “Our passenger service is currently operating with some timetable disruption, this is due to an incident in the Tunnel which is in the process of being resolved. There is a waiting time of approximately 60 minutes before check in and 5 hours on the terminal.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to your journey.”
