European airlines reported 6% growth in passenger traffic for June on a year-over-year basis, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). A separate study found that more U.S. travelers are visiting Europe.

Tourists are coming back to Las Vegas in droves, but spending has declined, and most of it appears to have shifted away from gambling to entertainment and dining venues. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reports that more than 39.7 million people visited Las Vegas last year, each one spending about $1,021. By comparison, visits and spending in 2007 were 39.2 million and $1,318, respectively.
Gaming accounted for only 36% of the city’s revenue last year, compared with 56% in 1984.
