The Middle East could become home to a new type of concept hotel – a ‘SPACE HOTEL’ – according to a recent report by Emirates 24|7.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha are the three regions being eyed by US-based company, Mobilona Space Hotels, for the UAE’s first Space Hotel according to CEO Jerome Bottari, who told the business news website: “We have received proposals for the construction of a Space Hotel in Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.”
The central concept of the Space Hotel offers guests a space-like, zero-gravity experience with the aim of allowing them to travel to distant galaxies without ever leaving the ground.
Last week, the company announced plans to build a 300-metre ‘Mobilona Space Hotel’ with a zero-gravity spa and vertical wind tunnel plus more than 2000 hotel suites and luxury residences on a €1.5 billion ($1.93 billion) artificial island off the coast of Barcelona, which is said to have infuriated Barcelona officials on the submittance of the company’s plans for approval, according to CNN.
Mobilona also announced plans for similar Space Hotels in Los Angeles and Hong Kong.
