Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has opened a new one-stop travel retail and check-in facility in Dubai.
The outlet, known as the Etihad Travel Mall, will replace the airline’s previous facilities at Chelsea Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, and will allow guests to purchase tickets, drop off baggage and board a coach directly to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The new centre is part of Etihad’s strategy to entice passengers from Dubai and includes a number of other amenities, including a jones the grocer cafe and Hertz car rental service.
“We will continue to look at ways in which we can offer a more seamless, enjoyable experience for our guests and ultimately transform the expectations of air travellers,” commented Etihad CEO James Hogan.
“This new facility is a demonstration of our commitment to our guests within our home market, offering a more comprehensive service with a complete one-stop location for all of their travel needs,” he added.
Etihad, which began operations in 2003, is the UAE’s second largest airline. The carrier served 10.3m passengers in 2012 and operates a network of more than 88 destinations worldwide.
